Your First Visit
1) After completing forms concerning your medical history and personal information, Dr. Bottesch will obtain a detailed history of your current problem(s). If your problem is outside of the scope of practice of chiropractic, you will be referred to the appropriate health care provider.
2) You then undergo a thorough physical examination directed toward your specific problem and other suspected problems. You also may be advised to obtain diagnostic imaging before or after the physical examination in order to rule out more serious causes of your pain.
3) You will be given a report of findings including your diagnosis and the proposed treatment. Treatments usually involve a combination of joint manipulative therapy, physical therapy, massage, nutritional advice, and postural and lifestyle advice. Again, if the problem is outside of the scope of practice of chiropractic and primary spine care, you will be referred to the appropriate health care provider.
4) After reviewing the proposed treatment procedures and their risks and alternatives, you will complete the informed consent form. Afterwards you will undergo your first treatment on your path to being yourself again
